DAVE POPPLE Ph.D.
Dave is a Corporate Psychologist for Corporate Insights. His interest in corporate consulting came while watching a Monday night football game with a friend, the Vice President of Information Technology for a mid-sized North Dallas Company. His friend began sharing his work team frustrations and Dave diagramed what he was hearing, using ketchup bottles, salt shakers, and sugar packets. The insights from that night led to a two-year consulting contract. Since then, Dave achieved his Ph.D., conducted several research projects on corporate assessment and high functioning work teams, and taught several graduate courses, including: group psychology, research, program evaluation, ethics, multicultural psychology, and personality assessment.
Dave led the development of many of the current assessments used by Corporate Insights. For example, Dave developed the F-CARS, a measure of workplace personality based on Five Factor Personality Theory, in response to clients who did not know whether they should answer personality questions based on the work behavior or home behavior. Another example is the CIBA, a measure of Business Analytical skills, when he discovered that similar measures had answers that reflected only two possible analytical mistakes.
Dave is also very interested in identifying the clients return on investment when they use Corporate Insights consulting services. Although it is difficult to identify all of the reasons for change, Dave has been able to show savings of as much as $770,000 dollars in reduced turnover in one year.
One of our clients once described Dave as “thinking out of both sides of his brain”. She meant to indicate that Dave is able to do the soft skills like training, coaching, change management, and leadership development and hard skills like test development, statistical analysis, and business analysis equally well. This unique combination of skills has served him well since becoming a partner with Corporate Insights.
Prior to his career as a corporate psychologist, Dave worked with youth and families, developed an inner-city tutoring and outreach program that serves 1500 children and 500 volunteers annually. He also worked with prison inmates and provided a variety of social services to unique populations. When not working, Dave runs marathons, works on his boat, follows the Green Bay Packers, and travels. He is married to Dr. Jody Popple and together they live with their three dogs in the lower Hudson Valley.
Mitch Rosen
Mitchell Rosen is a specialist in management training and executive development with over 20 years of business management experience. As a consultant, he is currently working with senior executives, human resources managers and business professionals in a variety of organizations with a focus on providing two major services:
Individual and Team Coaching:
When attending a standard training program is not appropriate (e.g. senior, or highly-trained managers who need to examine and enhance their interpersonal and communication style), Mitch works one-on-one with individuals to first develop self awareness, and then to identify both development needs as well as strengths to be further leveraged. He works with them to create and implement measurable action plans designed to show tangible improvement in their leadership effectiveness in key business areas such as: managing and coaching others; building teamwork; establishing effective interpersonal relationships; communication, listening and feedback skills; influencing others; managing change; managing conflict; retaining high performers and managing high potentials; making presentations; conducting meetings; and managing time and stress. Mitch offers honest feedback and specific, concrete advice to develop behaviors and skills to make leaders more effective. He helps clients build flexibility into their leadership style in a way that is consistent with their personalities and the pursuit of their organizational goals. When needed, Mitch uses extensive videotaping and playback sessions for clients who need to enhance their "professional presence" and understand the impact of their communication style on others.
Mitch also provides coaching for teams who need to work together more effectively. He helps team leaders formulate a strategy for creating an appropriate "team culture" and standards for accomplishing team assignments, including the most productive way to help team members “leverage” the strengths of others.
Customization and Delivery of Management Skills Programs:
Mitch combines dynamic stand-up skills with a passion for interactive design to create the ideal atmosphere for experiential learning. Areas of expertise include: leadership/team development; communication/interpersonal styles; planning/time management; performance management; sales development; change management; employment law/sexual harassment awareness; and acclimating American managers to Japanese management practices.
Clients have included: Ogilvy & Mather, Grey Healthcare, Nickleodeon, BMG Music, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse/First Boston, Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, Federal Home Loan Bank, Ernst & Young LLP, Tokai Bank and Securitas Capital.
